TAF has organised its operations into distinct regions known as "zones." These zones play a vital role in facilitating the Association's activities at the regional level, allowing for more focused and region-specific efforts.

Zonal Meetings: To ensure that the Association's goals and objectives are met at the regional level, TAF conducts Zonal General Meetings within these zones. These meetings are platforms for coordinating activities and discussions tailored to each region's unique needs and challenges.

Recent Merger: In response to organisational adjustments prompted by creating new administrative regions within the country, TAF underwent a strategic merger of some of its original eleven zones into ten. This restructuring effort aims to streamline operations, making TAF more adaptable to changing circumstances and better equipped to address regional forestry issues.

Current Zones: As of the latest update, TAF operates in ten distinct zones, each with its geographical coverage and regional focus:

  1. Lake One encompasses the Mwanza, Simiyu, and Mara regions.
  2. Lake Two covers the Kagera, Geita, and Shinyanga regions.
  3. Eastern includes Dar es Salaam and Coast regions.
  4. Morogoro focuses on the Morogoro region.
  5. Central covers Dodoma, Singida, and Manyara regions.
  6. Western includes the Tabora, Katavi, and Kigoma regions.
  7. Southern encompasses Ruvuma, Lindi, and Mtwara regions.
  8. Southern Highlands covers Mbeya, Iringa, Njombe, Songwe, and Rukwa regions.
  9. Northern spanning Arusha, Kilimanjaro, and Tanga regions.
  10. Zanzibar encompasses both the Unguja and Pemba Islands.

These zones serve as instrumental mechanisms for TAF to address region-specific forestry issues, ensuring a more practical approach to its activities.
