The membership of the Association shall consist of the following classes of voting members:
Ordinary Members:
Shall fulfil the following requirements: -
- Have attended formal training in forestry and related fields in institutions recognized by the Association and have Certificates, Diplomas and Degrees to authenticate and fulfilled other requirements for membership/paid membership fees. Holders of honorary PhDs, and other attributes shall be considered by the Association.
- Have engaged in forestry practices recognized by association in Tanzania for at least 2 years.
Associate Members:
Shall be: -
- A student of a recognized University, College, and other institutions who intends to qualify for a degree or diploma or certificate in forestry or a degree in any branch of science connected with forestry.
- An Associate member may be promoted on merits to ordinary membership by the Executive Committee upon re application and must fulfil the ordinary members’ conditions.
- Associate members are not entitled to privileges as per ARTICLE 9 of the constitution.
Life Members:
Life Membership is a special form of membership which should be bestowed upon any Member excluding Associate and Honorary members whose services to the Association is agreed to have been sufficiently meritorious. Award of this honour is a recognition of member’s outstanding contribution to the Association. Life members shall also be entitled to the following prerogatives:
- Shall not be affected by membership fee adjustments except when there is wholesome memberships fee structures.
- Shall have a special identity card/code and for which the bearer shall pay an annual fee set by the Association’ Executive Committee.
- Life membership shall be withdrawn and nullified when the bearer is disqualified by the Association.
Honorary Members:
This category is reserved for individuals who have rendered outstanding service to forestry and the Association. Honorary members are recognized by the Association and awarded certificates of recognition by Annual General Meeting following recommendation of National Executive Committee. Such members shall have the privilege of being invited to Annual General Meetings but shall be non-voting members.
Institutional Members:
Institutional members shall comprise a corporate body or an institution interested in furthering the objectives of TAF.
